Teixeira Coelho
Teixeira Coelho was born in 1944 in Bauru (SP). A professor of cultural policy at the Universidade de São Paulo (USP), he has served as a curator of the Museu de Arte Contemporânea de São Paulo and is currently the curator of the Museu de Arte de São Paulo (Masp). He is the author of Guerras culturais (2000) and A cultura e seu contrário (2009), among other essays. His fictional work includes Niemeyer (1994), As fúrias da mente (1998), História natural da ditadura (2006, winner of the Prêmio Portugal Telecom) and the recent O homem que vive – uma jornada sentimental (2010). He wrote the novels Os histéricos (1993) and Céus derretidos (2006) in partnership with film critic Jean Claude Bernardet.
